Tivoli Theatre Final Show Announced

Dublin’s iconic Tivoli Theatre – first opened in 1934 – will shut its doors this year for good, ending with a night of electronica music January 26.

Located in Francis Street, the concert venue is best known for hosting musicians like the Beastie Boys, Blur, The Cranberries and Oasis. Last year, it was announced announced the building would be knocked in order to make way for a 289-bed aparthotel.

In recent years, the Tivoli Theatre has become a haven for fans of alternative dance music in housing District 8, a club specialising in showcasing the world’s most renowned electronic and live acts. In keeping with this tradition, the final show – titled: “The Final Tivoli Saturday” – will feature live DJ sets from D8 favourites such as Dave Clarke, Brame & Gamo, DeFeKT, Kiasmos and Sunil Sharpe.

To mark the event, there will also be limited edition District 8 12” vinyl available. Speaking about the show, organisers said in a statement: “A huge thanks to everyone for their support, we look forward to closing this chapter with you and opening the next… Advance tickets are strongly advised!”

Tickets are on sale now via Eventbrite.
