Hastings Hotels Win Best Luxury Hotel Group Award
Hastings Hotels have been named Best Luxury Hotel Group for the second year in a row at the annual Travel Media Awards in Dublin, while Tourism Northern Ireland was crowned Best Tourist Board.
The Northern Ireland hotel group were honoured for their commitment to the highest standard across their seven luxury destinations. These include the Culloden Estate and Spa, the Europa hotel, the Stormont hotel and the The Grand Central Hotel – all situated in Belfast
Representatives from the travel trade and media gathered at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin for the awards which acknowledge outstanding performance in the travel and tourism industry. The accolades are voted for by a wide cross-section of media throughout Ireland. They are independently audited by the Department of Tourism at Dublin Institute of Technology.
“We are thrilled to have been named Best Luxury Hotel Group at the 2019 Travel Media Awards for the second year in a row,” said Edward Carson, Chairman of Hastings Hotels in a statement. “What makes this award special is the fact that it was voted for by the travel media, many of whom have stayed in and written about our seven hotels. They continue to play an important role in helping us attract guests.
“At Hastings Hotels we have a long-term philosophy to reinvest year-on-year in our people and our properties. We believe it is this type of commitment that enables us to win such prestigious awards.
This accolade comes just as we are about to celebrate the first birthday of the Grand Central Hotel which has had a fantastic year of trading. I would also like to congratulate Tourism Northern Ireland on picking up the award for Best Tourist Board.”
Tourism NI had an incredible year of screen tourism with Game of Thrones and Derry Girls, and is looking forward to a summer of success with The 148th Open Championship
