Halloween Events Running at Dublin’s Botanic Gardens

On Oct 20-21, the National Botanic Gardens located in Glasnevin are running a series of events to celebrate this year’s Halloween or Samhain.

Kids can take part in a decorated pumpkin competition on Saturday 20th between 10am and 4pm. If chosen a winner, your pumpkin can be part of a exhibition in the gardens that will run until just after Halloween.
Meanwhile on the 21st from 12pm-5pm, the celebrations will continue with a bumper series of events including the aforementioned decorated pumpkin exhibition as well as a dress-up day and a Halloween harvest display.
One can also learn all about magical plants witches are believed to keep in their gardens with presentations

every twenty minutes in the Erasmus Education Garden. Join the coven to find out more about using garlic to ward off vampires, plants for potions and spells, as well poisonous and even some rarely seen invisible plants.

This event is a big hit with visitors every year. For details in regards how to attend for both days, visit http://botanicgardens.ie/ or call 353 1 804 0300.
