Gary Numan to Celebrate 40 Years of Music at Olympia Theatre
Celebrating 40 years of music, Gary Numan returns to Ireland to play the Olympia Theatre Dublin on Sunday, September 22.
Notorious for number one hits such as ‘Are ‘Friends’ Electric?’ and ‘Cars’, the London singer’s electronic music remains an inspiration to artists across genres and eras. Stadium goliaths such as Depeche Mode, Prince and Nine Inch Nails, as well as alternative heroes such as Beck, Damon Albarn and Marilyn Manson have all cited him as an influence.
Considered a pioneer of commercial electronic music, and his signature sound consisting of heavy synthesiser hooks fed through guitar effects pedals, in 2017 he received an Ivor Novello Award from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers, and Authors.
Tickets for his Olympia Theatre go on sale Friday, May 24 at 9am from Ticketmaster. They cost from €34.65 including booking fee.
