WATCH: New Online Film Goes Live, Showcasing Ireland’s Fab Food
A new online film starring chef and TV personality Dan Doherty checking out the food scene in Dublin has been unveiled by Tourism Ireland.
The video is the first in a series of three short movies created by Tourism Ireland and The Daily Telegraph to highlight the Irish food experience in Britain. A vital element of the holiday experience nowadays, the online videos – called “Dan Doherty’s A Taste of Ireland” – are all about Ireland’s local produce.
They will be hosted on the Telegraph website; promoted via online advertising as well as on the social platforms of both The Daily Telegraph and Tourism Ireland, including Facebook and Twitter, and will be seen by around 123,000 viewers.
In this first film, viewers see Dan Doherty visit the Boxty House in Dublin to find out how head chef and proprietor Pádraic Óg Gallagher is giving the traditional dish of boxty a modern twist. To view the film, click here.
“We’re delighted to work with Dan Doherty, as part of our latest campaign with The Daily Telegraph. It’s another excellent opportunity to spread the word about our superb culinary offering and what makes a holiday in Ireland unique and truly memorable. Our message here in Britain is that the island of Ireland is a superb choice for ‘foodies’ for a holiday or long weekend break,” Julie Wakley, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Great Britain, said in a statement.
Great Britain delivers 47 per cent of all overseas visitors and around 30 per cent of all overseas tourism revenue. Its contribution to the regional tourism economy and to season extension objectives are also significant, with 41 per cent of British visitors arriving between October and March.
