IFI and VMDIFF’s Careers in Screen Day Returns, Special Guest Lenny Abrahamson

The second annual Careers in Screen Day – hosted by the IFI and Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival will take place on Thursday, February 28.

Offering a day of activities for young people interested in finding out about working in the film industry, the first guest confirmed for the 2019 event is Oscar-nominated director Lenny Abrahamson. Best known as the filmmaker behind Adam and Paul, Frank and Room, his latest movie The Little Stranger was released last year.

The event, aimed at second-level students aged 15 to 18, is an opportunity to hear from a whole variety of film industry practitioners, to learn about their work, how they got there and what advice they might give to young people starting out. Whether it’s the craft side of the industry, working in front of the camera or behind, as well as other areas such as production or casting, the IFI say there will be something for every interest.

Tickets cost €5.50 per person and are available here.
