Cúirt International Festival of Literature starts today in Galway

The 33rd Cúirt International Festival of Literature started today and promises a diverse and eclectic line-up, curated by its new Programme Director, Emily Cullen.  The programme includes leading Irish and international authors including the new Laureate for Irish Fiction, Sebastian Barry, Bernard MacLaverty, Sally Rooney, Patrick McCabe, Professor Declan Kiberd, Imtiaz Dharker, Juan Pablo Villalobos and many more.

Cúirt 2018 will present some of the most exciting writers and artists at over 70 events across poetry, prose, music and spoken word. The programme also includes theatre, talks, masterclasses, family events and exhibitions as well as its annual education programme for children and teenagers, Cúírt Labs. Writers and artists from America, Austria, Canada, Catalonia, the UK, France, Mexico and Norway will attend alongside the very best of Irish authors.

There are talks on how to get published, masterclasses with writers, free exhibitions as well as readings that will be of special interest to book clubs Cuirt Calling Book Clubs
