Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers to Celebrate 45 Years at the Olympia

Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers have announced an Olympia Theatre date on December 4 to celebrate 45 years of Rollermania.

The legendary 70’s pop rock group are best known for their tracks ‘Remember (Sha-la-la-la)’, ‘Shang-a-Lang’, ‘Summerlove Sensation’, ‘Saturday Night’ and their UK number one smash hits ‘Give a Little Love’ and cover of the Four Seasons’ classic ‘Bye, Bye Baby’.

Famous worldwide as teen idols, the band were one of the UK’s biggest selling acts, even drawing comparisons to The Beatles. At the height of their fame, Bay City Roller fans had a completely distinctive style of dress, the main elements of which were calf-length tartan trousers and tartan scarves.

Organisers promise Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers is a unique voyage back to the 1970s – the time where ‘Rollermania’ swept the world and Les and his legendary band dominated the charts becoming the soundtrack for a generation of teenagers.

Tickets are from €35 including booking and restoration fees. They go on sale tomorrow (Saturday, August 10) at 9am.
