Alliance Française in Dublin will host the launch of Gérard Roman’s new book In Love With Paris on Thursday 8 December.
Ramon is an acclaimed French sculptor whose monumental sculptures of bronze and copper adorn streets and squares in many French cities and private collections all over the world. A born and bred Parisian, Gérard Ramon also expressed his love for the city through drawings and watercolours that are collected for the first time in the book In Love with Paris which mixes his colour illustrations with quotes about Paris by famous writers, including Victor Hugo, Charles Baudelaire, Ernest Hemingway, Gertrude Stein and Julien Green.
There will also be an exhibition of his work at the launch. The exhibition will be presented by Svetlana Pironko, publisher at Betimes Books, and excerpts from the book will be read by Anne Nakache and Georgina Polhill. The book and limited edition prints signed by the artist will be on sale during the launch.
Admission to the launch and exhibition is free and includes a complimentary glass of wine.
