40,000 Italians Read All About Ireland
Popular Italian travel magazine In Viaggio has dedicated its entire August issue to Ireland. The bumper ‘Irlanda 2019’ edition will reach around 40,000 Italian travellers – or potential holidaymakers – over the coming weeks.
Tourism Ireland in Milan, in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland and Tourism NI, invited journalists from the magazine to visit this spring and in 2018. The resulting August edition features stunning photography throughout and some great articles.
Examples include: “The most beautiful Irish villages in Kerry and West Cork”, “The Kingdom of Game of Thrones” and “Donegal: the artisans of tweed on the northwest coast”. The mag also contains information on Dublin, the Midlands, Ireland’s Ancient East, great food, cycling and walking.
“We are really pleased with the excellent coverage in this month’s In Viaggio magazine”, said Niamh Kinsella, Tourism Ireland’s Manager in Italy, in a statement. “It’s a really good way of showcasing Ireland to a large audience of potential Italian visitors.”
“Publicity is an important element of Tourism Ireland’s overall promotional programme. It helps to raise awareness through the Italian media of the many things to see and do on a holiday on the island.”
Tourism Ireland is rolling out an extensive programme of promotions in 2019. This is to continue to grow Italian tourist numbers.
The organisation is placing a greater focus on driving growth to less visited attractions and locations, particularly in the off-peak and shoulder seasons.
